The project

About us The 4RnD Circular Construction Hub is a physical and virtual platform dedicated to testing, developing and demonstrating innovative solutions in the field of circular and sustainable design/construction. Our main goal is to promote the circular economy in the local construction industry and push the boundaries of green innovation. We are committed to turning environmental problems into opportunities for positive change by working with local stakeholders and building a network capable of overcoming the current supply chain problems associated with the 'throwaway mentality'. Research and education topics How can the deconstruction of buildings be promoted and supported in the local context? How can the reuse and subsequent recycling of building components/materials be increased in the local context? Database for the exchange of reusable building elements in Ticino. Local potential for "upcycling" (building-related and non-building-related) to construction products/materials. Circularity and environmental sustainability for BIPV (Building Integrated Photovoltaics) technologies. Promotion and support of local case studies on "circular" buildings.
